Roland Jazz Chorus JC120

The Roland Jazz Chorus JC120 is one of the few amplifiers that truly deserve to be known as "legendary". Why? Well, this undisputed King Of Clean 2x12 solid state combo has been in continuous production since its birth in 1975. This is one of the earliest 1st year of production models. This one dates to 1976, so it is a truly vintage example. The construction and sound of the JC120 has changed somewhat over the years, partly due to components no longer being made and efforts to "improve" efficiency production-wise since the late seventies. According to the JC120 aficionados, this older model is the most desirable. This one has the MOJO!

This combo is famous for its ability to produce enormous super clean sounds at volume, which when combined with the on board lush chorus/vibrato, sound absolutely phenomenal!

This amp has been and still is the choice for countless world famous players, who settle for nothing less. You might also notice that the 2x speakers are different from one another. These have been deliberately "mismatched" in order to improve the overall response of the amp.  (A top tip from a number of session pros) .The regular (and original) Roland labelled 12" has been joined by a high quality Eminence 12" speaker, which when heard together yields a warmer sound, greater than the sum of its parts... without losing the shimmery sparkle and clear articulation that this amp is famous all over the globe for!

Made in 1976 in Japan by the Roland Corporation, this 120 watt combo has a pair of purposefully mismatched 12" speakers. One is the original Roland "Silver Cone" speaker. The other is a high quality Eminence 12.  It is  a solid state amplifier and has built in switchable effects: Chorus, Vibrato and Distortion.

This is an open backed combo . The dimensions (including castors) are 62.2cm/29.92"(h) x 76cm/29.92"(w) x 28cm/11.02"(d) and the weight is 28kg (61lbs, 12oz). Built in 1976

This JC120's biggest feature is its ability to produce a phenomenal and inimitable clean sound.  When  combined with the on board Chorus and Vibrato effects, the results are simply stellar! Think of those clean jangly Johnny Marr guitar sounds, those early tones on The Cure albums, and Metallica clean sounds......You know when you hear the sound of a Jazz Chorus! Leaving the distortion feature aside (as the less said about that, the better), there is no other amp that can make the beautiful unique swishy noise that this one can!
